To improve the performance and availability of corporate IT services and eliminating the risks associated with the potential opportunity of inconsistent access to equipment, in PJSC "MMC Norilsk Nickel" it was decided to build its own data center.
Development of corporate data center infrastructure. Modular Center for Processing Data PJSC "MMC Norilsk Nickel"
Earlier, the customer used to accommodate corporate information systems the rented platform, which had a number of shortcomings, and therefore it was decided to build their own data center for:
improve the performance and availability of corporate IT services;
eliminating risks associated with the potential possibility of inconsistent with PJSC Norilsk Nickel Access to Equipment.
Uniqueness of the project
The main feature of the project is the modular non-capital design of the data center with the possibility of operational movement for use on a new platform. The possibility of moving the Mtskode was tested during the preliminary tests at the factory in Novosibirsk: complete assembly, testing, disassembly and transportation from Novosibirsk to Moscow were performed.
Another feature is the operational reconstruction of the transformer substation that feeds the MDD. Joint work with PJSC Rosseti and PJSC "MOESK" allowed to reduce the period for the reconstruction of TP for 8 months.
During the project, it was necessary to adapt the technical solutions for the guaranteed power supply. Instead of supplying a new DSU, the Customer decided to use the previously acquired, not fully appropriate project specifications. Within 1 month, refinement was carried out in part of the storage of fuel and the design of the module, which made it possible to use equipment.
According to the technical characteristics of the MDD is not inferior to the classic data center. Taking into account the preservation of all necessary service distances, the data center occupies the minimum area at the customer's site.
DKC – Cable Trays for SCS and Power Supply System
Cisco – Switching equipment for connecting ASDU
Daikin – Split Systems for Air Conditioning Electrical Mtsk
APC – Racks for IT Equipment, PDU, Temperature and Humidity Sensors for ASDU
Utilex – Modular Code Building
Iconics – Software ASDU
Multifactor conformity for compliance with customer requirements: a script-disassembly on the manufacturer's site, tested for tightness, heat loss, deviation of heights, etc.
Logistics processes were organized in such a way that the elements of the McDar arriving at the site and immediately went to the assembly, without the need to rent a warehouse.
Replacing the technical solution on the use of DSU and its adaptation under the requirements of the project.
The need to perform the reconstruction of the supply transformer substation for 8 months faster.
The complex of work on the creation of the MCDI included: the development of project and working documentation, the conduct of general construction work, the work on the electrical capacity, the supply of the complex of engineering equipment and materials, installation and commissioning of the MCD, the development of operational documentation.
