The head of the upper house of parliament examined the equipment of the Institute, including SPECT-CT and PET-CT complexes, and talked with the staff and patients of the institution.
In the unique Full Cycle Center, diagnostics are carried out, treatment tactics are chosen and assistance is provided at the highest level using the latest technologies. This is, of course, the medicine of the future.
According to the speaker of the Federation Council, in this world-class medical institution, much is being done for the first time in Russia with the participation of scientists and medical practitioners. “In the unique Full Cycle Center, diagnostics are carried out, treatment tactics are chosen and assistance is provided at the highest level using the latest technologies. This, of course, is the medicine of the future. But it already exists today, here in the Moscow region,” said the Chairman of the Federation Council.
She noted that chemists, radiologists and doctors working at the Institute of Physics are creating a new medicine that should become accessible and everyday in Russia. "This is the latest word in science, which opens up great opportunities for cancer patients for effective treatment."
Valentina Matvienko thanked the governor of the region for creating conditions for the construction and operation of a medical center of this level. “It is very important that the Center is built on private investments. Russian companies are investing in new technologies not only in industry and agriculture, but are also actively moving into healthcare and the social sphere.”
This Center will be available to all citizens, as it operates under the system of compulsory medical insurance (CMI), the head of the Federation Council emphasized. “Work is underway to implement the national project “Healthcare”, the federal project “Fight against cancer”. The quality of medical care for the treatment of cancer patients and patients requiring emergency medical care is growing. Today, oncology is no longer a verdict, you understand this very well in such Centers, where the curability is 92–94 percent.”
Valentina Matvienko noted that during the pandemic, it is necessary to continue to provide planned medical care, treat chronic diseases, carry out emergency operations, as well as medical examinations. “The Federation Council supports the Oncopatrol campaign. We must do everything to detect such diseases as early as possible – in order to save people's lives, increase its duration, ”said the speaker of the Federation Council.

“The President and life itself set us the task of increasing its duration. For this, state medical care – clinics, hospitals, and private – must be at a high level. I really hope that the Center will work at full capacity – this is always very important both for the number of lives saved and for practice. And our task is to support, among other things, private healthcare through CHI. Now we have talked with patients, they say: everything is great here, we do not pay a penny – the state provides such an opportunity, ”said Andrey Vorobyov.
President of JSC "Medicina", academician Grigory Roitberg told that patients undergo radionuclide therapy. This is the most progressive method of treatment, it affects only the affected area, without affecting other organs and tissues. “Therefore, the side effect is as minimal as possible. The Center has a radiotherapy department and a radiation diagnostics department, and even a special complex for the production of radiopharmaceuticals.”
The Institute of Nuclear Medicine in Khimki is a subdivision of JSC "Medicina" (clinic of Academician Roitberg). This is the largest Center in Russia and one of the largest in Eastern Europe. It was created as a full-cycle expert center for the diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases. It acts as a platform for international clinical trials and educational practices.
