Nedugov G.V. Subdural hematomas [Text] – Samara: Etching, 2011. – 344 p. : ill.
Annotation:
The monograph presents current data on the etiology, epidemiology, pathomorphology and possible evolutionary paths of intracranial subdural hematomas, systematizes information about their possible sources and variants of genesis, considers the biomechanics of compression and dislocation of the brain by subdural hematomas, and describes the classification of morphological types of subdural hematomas. Evidence is provided on the possibility and specific mechanisms of spontaneous resolution, redistribution and migration of intracranial subdural hematomas. Algorithms for the objective determination of the sources and genesis of subdural hematomas have been proposed, reconstruction of the mechanism of traumatic brain injury with the presence of subdural hematomas, partial assessment of the role of trauma and pathology in the genesis of subdural hematomas and any other damage in local and systemic pathological changes. Chronological models have been constructed and principles for predicting the timing of the development of various complications of compression and dislocation of the brain have been substantiated. Analytical technologies developed on the basis of the principles of evidence-based medicine for establishing the age of subdural hematomas by biochemical and chemical examination of their contents, qualitative and quantitative histological study of fragments of the dural membrane, as well as leptomeningeal and cerebral damage associated with subdural hematoma are formulated. Methods are proposed for determining the dynamics of the state of the victim and the duration of subdural hematomas by the morphology of cerebral dislocation. The reasons for the chronic course and the main outcomes of subdural hematomas, variants of the morphological structure of their capsules are highlighted. Modern data on the role of subdural hygromas in the genesis of chronic subdural hematomas are presented and the mechanisms of their mutual transformation are considered. The monograph is intended for forensic experts, pathologists, neurosurgeons, neurologists and traumatologists.
